Im sure plenty of you are hackers and have been tinkering with a way to get online with MGO. Well after a LOT of work, Iv finally gotten a huge brakethrough.
Now. Im getting straight to the point, What I need is someone who can bypass the DNAS checksum for regions on the discs, I know from host CP you can set it to regionless, but it has to be in sync with the checksum on the disc, which i currentlly Can not modifiy.
The new MGO disc ill hopefully be releaseing soon will be based on the original, But useing either LAN or online PS2 lan players (tool allowing lan games for PS2 to be played online with a host PS2 controlling it all)
NOTE: To people wanting to host their oun server of 100-3,000 people, You will need a stock firmwire linksys router (wired, not wireless) thats either 4port or 8port, As well as one of the ports to have a proxy installed to emulate the konami server`s. No, you dont need anything but a very small program running telling the disc of server status and ranks. (very simple boxes such as checking off maintenence mode and typing in its status and ect, likewise for scores)
WARNING: To players wanting to play on anothers server, Be warned that as a GM and main server, they will be able to see ALL of the passwords you tie to your accounts, So if you use one accountname and password for everything, I suggest you use a COMPLETELLY New PASSWORD. Otherwise Whoever is hosting your server will be able to access prettymuch everything online that you log into.
Closure: With all said, I will give credits to whoever helps me get this last little bit of data replaced and it will be noted in the discs release. With any luck Kojima will suppliment me the trouble and miss / hit testing im doing and port the PSP mgo`s to PS2.
Either way, Thanks in advance for help
